Thank you so much for sharing these Jaihn - I'm enjoying the bright pinks and was surprised to see them! And I love the organisation of your paint-pans in tins, with the corresponding sample book. I always struggle to choose colours, a) because I am not good at making decisions generally, and b) because there are simply so many colours! So this is a practice that I was interested to hear about. I wonder how much it helps you in your creating?
Thank you, Mel! Your response brought reassurance that someone is receiving my offering here.
I giggle that the painty organisation appeals to you - Naturally!
The general corralling of supplies always helps me, in terms of having currently-relevant (+ resonant!) things to hand when I am ready to roll with the splashing.
Like having the ingredients ready before the baking begins, I guess.
(Of course) I'm not rigid about the way the sample-books reflect the new tins - which will change as things go along, no doubt.
I've been more careful about the numbering/naming process in both book and on the paint pans, so that if/when I re-shuffle, I can still find the right paint, from the book samples. Paying it Forward.
My enthusiasm for the methodical-ish work waned, I noticed, after the Sun-shift from solid Capricorn into less-solid Aquarius. Rolling with the Winds of Change.
But it's a lovely practice for treading-water, keeping-things-rolling days.
I find colour choice is an ongoing evolving part of it all, and so the changeable tins are a good solution to support that. Not fixed. - bendy!
A limited palette - really just what I am 'drawn to', rather than 'choosing' - can be helpful, too.
I prefer a few colours to a jumble-sale-riot - usually. Nothing set in stone though - some rioting can happen from time to time.
There are always a hundred alternative colours waiting in the wings overhere, in various media. Giving myself many choices, and then honing those, seems to be how it works.
Is that helpful to you?
And may I add: I've known you to make many good choices/decisions! x x x
Thank you for being YOU . I really enjoyed your artwork ☺️ This red colour in your pictures is very promising. Gives so much good and warm vibes .I love it 👍 .I also fell in love with concertina book . Thank you for sharing it. Lots of love xxx
Ahhh, your kind words uplift me. x x x Thank you ~ For Being YOU!!
I'm glad to have made new friends with Red, too - I thought the attraction might go when Santa moved on through, but we're still cooking.
Happy New Snake year! ~~~ I read today that red (hahaha English) is good Snake year colour, too. (Probably would find that every other colour is good, somewhere online.)
I have surprise Fierce new colours to show you tomorrow.
And I've begun the larger concertina book. This one, you'll see as it develops! Love x x x
Jaihn, dear Jaihn, enjoyed the writing and the beautiful photos, many of which seemed to draw by breath for me. Loved the reds and what looked like copper metallic accents. Joy moving and animating the paper concertina and the paint tins neatly arranged. Oh, the dream to have tea with you again! Qi Blessings. -Josie
